Templates and Plugins

Wherever possible, we try to hard code the main structure of the templates to ensure that important elements such as navigation, metadata, related content etc. don’t get forgotten.

This also means there is a level of consistency between the different articles, biographies and product landing pages.

Within the templates there are three main areas you can add content:

Banner

This unit is optional on most pages.  It can be used to display an image, text and link or a carousel unit that automatically rotates through images.

Content

This is the main content area and can be constructed from any number of “Plugins”.  Plugins allow you to add many different types of content.  The most commonly of these will usually be rich text but any number of plugins can be incorporated in any order to publish images, video, quotes, carousels etc.

Sidebar

On most pages, the sidebar will be generated automatically based on the template in use.
